How a session works

The session starts on the beach with a wind reading and safety briefing. The instructor then chooses the equipment: wing size, board volume, and a more stable or more reactive foil depending on your level.

For beginners, the first step is wing control and simple positions. The board comes next, with a realistic objective: move forward, hold a line, come back toward the beach and feel the glide. Foil flight is built progressively.

What radio coaching changes

In wingfoil, many corrections matter at the right moment: hand too high, eyes stuck on the board, weight too far back, wing badly oriented. When conditions allow it, radio coaching helps the instructor correct you directly during the action.

This immediate feedback avoids repeating the same mistake for the whole session. It is especially useful for first flights, jibes and transitions.

How many hours should you plan?

For a discovery, one first session can be enough to understand the wing and the basic sensations. To aim for stable first flights, several sessions are often needed. People with previous kite, windsurf, surf, wake or foil experience usually progress faster.

The simplest approach is to start with a first format, then adjust with the team according to your feeling and the conditions.

What to master before chasing flight

The foil is attractive because it gives a strong sensation, but trying to take off too early often slows progression. Before flying, you need to control the wing, keep a stable position on the board, manage power and come back toward the beach without panic.

The lesson is built in this order. The first success is not necessarily a long flight, but a clean session: understanding power, holding a run, falling without getting in over your head and knowing where to ride in the bay.

  • Wing control on the beach and then on the water
  • Foot position and where you look
  • Managing falls with the foil
  • Return to the beach and respect of priorities
  • Choosing an area suited to your level

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I start with no experience?

Yes. The lesson can begin with the wing alone, then a stable board before the foil.

How long does it take to fly?

It depends a lot on the rider. Some lift off after a few sessions, others need more hours to stabilise their stance.

Is the lesson maintained if the wind is too strong?

The team can adapt the time, the equipment or reschedule if the conditions are not useful for your level.

Should I start directly with the foil?

Not necessarily. Depending on your level and the conditions, the instructor can first work on wing control and balance before looking for flight.

Can I move to rental after a lesson?

Yes if you can ride independently enough. The team validates it according to your ability to start, return and manage safety.
